About This Quote

In the movie "The Hangover", there is a scene where the main characters, played by Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms, are at a bar. In this scene, they are ragging on a man named Alan. If you listen closely, you will hear them say the following lines: "Damn straight," " So yeah," " I look at you," " And I could," " Suck start a leaf blower," " Or drill a Kevin-shaped body hole," " Into the wall," " Like a cartoon." These lines clearly demonstrate that these characters have no respect for Alan. In fact, they do not even care that he is in front of them.

In their minds, Alan is not good enough to be in their presence. They think that they are so much better than him that they have no problem saying derogatory things about him. These people show no regard for Alan and his feelings.

They make fun of him and try to make him feel bad and small because he is not like them and doesn't fit in with their lifestyle. The idea of looking someone in the eye and saying something like this is definitely rude and disrespectful to the person who heard it. It's like throwing trash at someone instead of putting it in a trash can.

It's also interesting to note that all three of these men (Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis) are white males playing black stereotypes. Many people would consider this offensive and racist against African Americans, but in this particular case it's funny and light hearted commentary on the lives of black men in America and how they are portrayed by white people in Hollywood movies. The last line "drill a Kevin-shaped body hole into the wall," is an example of racial stereotyping as well.

It serves as a reminder that white people see blacks as violent thugs who cannot control themselves when it comes to sex. This is certainly true with many black men, but it's also true with many white men too - which makes this line even more offensive than just simply saying "Damn straight."
