Sophie Swetchine is a writer and editor from London, UK. She graduated from the University of East Anglia with a BA in English Literature, and an MPhil in Creative Writing. Her short stories have been published in a variety of magazines including The Strand Magazine, The Malahat Review, and The Oxford Book of English Verse. In 2010 she won the British Columbia Postsecondary Teacher of the Year Award for her work in community-based education
She has been a visiting lecturer at Simon Fraser University and University of British Columbia, and has lectured at several universities across Canada. In 2012 she received the Governor General's Award for English Non-fiction for her work on the book "The Girl Who Played with Fire."
