Lisa De Jong is a Dutch author, poet, and speaker. Her novels have been translated into more than 20 languages. She has a PhD in English Literature from the University of Amsterdam and a BA in English Literature from the University of London. Her first novel, I’m Afraid of Everything , was published in the Netherlands in 2009
In 2012, she published her second novel, The Truth About Love , which won the Dutch Libris Award for Best Young Adult Book. In 2013, Lisa's third novel, Say Goodbye to All That , was published in the Netherlands. In 2015, her fourth novel, The Bone Thief , was published.
The Bone Thief is Lisa's first novel for children and was born out of a desire to tell stories that adults and adolescents alike can identify with. Lisa has received numerous awards and nominations for her work: two LibriVisie awards (for The Truth About Love and Say Goodbye to All That), one Libris Award (for I’m Afraid of Everything), six young adult awards (for The Truth About Love and Say Goodbye to All That), an American Library Association Alex Awards (for Say Goodbye to All That), two Children's Choice Book Awards (for I'm Afraid of Everything and The Truth About Love), and four NedLibrarians book awards (for The Truth About Love; Say Goodbye to All That; I’m Afraid of Everything; and The Bone Thief).
