Ivan Lendl (born June 22, 1963) is a former World No. 1 professional tennis player. He is the only person ever to have attained that rank without winning a Grand Slam singles title. Lendl won six Grand Slam singles titles and was a runner-up to Boris Becker at the 1988 Australian Open and 1989 French Open, five other Grand Slam singles titles, and a record nine Masters Series titles
He was also a two-time winner of the Doubles Cup (1986 and 1988) with John McEnroe. In addition, he has been inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. His autobiography, Winning Inside & Out, was published in 1992.
In 2006, Lendl joined World TeamTennis as an assistant coach to Andre Agassi.
