Bill Paxton is an American film actor whose career spans four decades, during which he has received numerous awards, including an Emmy Award. Paxton was born in Fort Worth, Texas, the son of Mary Lee (née Novinger), a homemaker, and Johnnie Lee Paxton, who was a college football player. His family moved to North Richland Hills, Texas, when he was five years old. After graduating from North Richland High School in 1978, Paxton went on to study at the University of North Texas and Louisiana State University
He attended Louisiana State University as a journalism student and studied acting for four years before dropping out to pursue other interests.
