The truth is that if you do not join the way of godliness, then you do not have any reason to complain when the ungodly are busy planning and making the pathway of ungodliness.

About This Quote

In the book of James, chapter 4 of the Bible, we read about a man who was trying to convince his brother to give up his sinful ways and turn to a life of righteousness. As the man spoke to his brother, he used some metaphors that seemed unrelated at first. He compared a person who was living a life of sin to a field that needed to be plowed. The first farmer would need a plow so he could get down into the ground and break up the muck.

If he didn’t have a plow, then he would have to stop and start all over again. In order for someone to plant seeds or reap crops, they needed a good plot of land on which to plant their seeds or plant their crops. The metaphor is actually pretty simple like this: You can’t do anything well unless you’ve got the tools necessary to do it well.
