The last line of this quote is what I find the most fascinating. The girl in the poem was never aware of mortality, but she lived out her teenage years as if it were inevitable. One of the main aspects of growing up is the realization that death is inevitable. That’s why we must try to live life to its fullest, without worrying about what will happen after we are gone.
