Do not seek power for revenge. Seek power in order to avoid situations that would make you want revenge.

About This Quote

We all have our own personal motivators to keep going, but there are also things that bring us down. One example of this is the desire for revenge. In order to not seek revenge, you have to be smart. If you want to stop yourself from wanting revenge, it is important to be smart about those situations that would make you want it.

For example, if someone was mean to you because of a personal problem, chances are it wasn’t their intention and they were undoubtably not thinking about the consequences. That doesn’t make them a bad person – it just makes them human – but if you still want to take revenge, don’t. Look at the situation from a different angle.

What “bad” could come from taking revenge? It might make you feel good for a while, but it could lead into a downward spiral. What would be worse? Going back once things have been put into the right perspective or taking no action at all?
