About This Quote

When you live on the edge of a cursed forest, you do a lot of staring into the dark. This quote is based on the story that there was once a young man who lived in a cursed forest. Whenever he ventured too far away from his home, he lost all sense of direction. One day, while out on an errand, he came across an old woman mending her clothes by the light of a campfire.

She welcomed him into her camp and offered him some food and drink. She then told him that she was cursed and that if something didn’t happen to her soon she would die. The young man started thinking about what to do and eventually decided to take her as his wife.

That night he went to sleep with his bride but could not sleep. He sat up thinking about how to rid himself of this curse and eventually got up and went outside where he saw two wolves fighting over a deer carcass. He watched the wolves for a while and then began turning them inside out whenever one fell down dead.

After several days, he decided that it was time to leave this cursed forest and return home before the curse overtook him as well.
