To my abusers: I forgive you. When I was younger, people tended to hurt me because they were angry with me. I remember one time when I was in the third grade, I cut myself on purpose to get attention. To make matters worse, my mother was away for work and my father was at work.

My mother came home early and smelled the blood on me and yelled at me. She slapped me across the face. I went hysterical and threw up all over her.

She took me to the car, made me lay down in the backseat, started the engine and still yelled at me. The car ride lasted for hours before she stopped to take me home. When we got home, she made me sleep on the living room floor, then she locked the door again.

She later apologized to my father who happened to be home early too for work.
