Zoe Archer has always been drawn to writers. She grew up reading, and then writing, essays and short stories. She studied English Literature at the University of Oxford where she met her future husband, who is now her agent. Her debut novel, The Gilded Cage, was published in July 2012
It tells the story of a privileged young woman who discovers that she is one of thousands of girls whose lives were destroyed by the London's East End's notorious 'baby farms' where unmarried mothers were kept in squalid conditions, forced to give up their children for adoption, and left to die. Zoe has another novel forthcoming in 2015 with HarperCollins/HarperTorch about a woman who assumes the identity of her dead sister to discover long-held secrets about her family's past before it's too late.
