He is the author of six graphic novels, including The Authority (which was later adapted into a feature film), Transmetropolitan, and Chew. His first novel, Gun Machine, was published by Vertigo in 2003; its sequel, Crooked Little Vein, followed in 2005. Ellis has also written for television series such as The X-Files and The Losers.
