Taron Egerton was born in Leicester, England. He studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. He is an accomplished actor, with credits in award-winning films including Young Adam (2009), Great Expectations (1998), Swinging with the Finkels (2011) and Arthur (2011). At age nineteen, he was cast as David Copperfield in an adaptation of Charles Dickens' most famous novel. The film was a critical and commercial failure. In 2011 he was cast as Eddie Brock/Venom in the Spider-Man reboot starring Tom Holland.
His other credits include playing Billy Casper in a highly acclaimed series of television adaptations of John Wyndham's novels The Day of the Triffids and The Kraken Wakes.
