Susan Squire was born in Morristown, New Jersey, and raised in Miami, Florida, where she attended the University of Miami, graduating with a degree in English and Creative Writing. As a student, she earned first-place honors for her original poetry and short stories. At the University of South Florida, she earned her Master's Degree in Education and taught English and creative writing to elementary school children for seven years. During that time she published three children’s books: “Escape from the Void” (Dell), “The Great Farting Contest” (William Morrow) and “Bad Kitty Goes to School” (HarperCollins)
She has been a freelance editor for over twenty years, editing numerous books from fiction to nonfiction. Currently a resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, Squire is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, National Writer's Association, Association of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, International Thriller Writers Association, Mystery Writers of America and Mystery Writers of America Research Center.
