Peter Yarrow is an American folk singer and activist. He is the lead singer of the folk rock band Peter, Paul and Mary, which is most famous for their 1960s hit song "Leaving on a Jet Plane". The song has been recorded by many artists, including Peter, Paul and Mary (who composed the song), The Mamas & the Papas, Frank Sinatra, Laura Nyro, Neil Diamond, The Hollies, Dolly Parton, Dave Stewart, Dolly Parton (with Linda Ronstadt), Pete Seeger, Taj Mahal (solo artist), Joan Baez (solo artist), Lee Ann Womack (solo artist) and Christopher Cross (solo artist).
