As a child, Mike Corbett was fascinated by the works of Charles Dickens and William Shakespeare. The literature and stories of these early inspirations would continue to haunt and influence him throughout his life. In 1967 he went to work for one of the largest newspapers in the United States, the Los Angeles Herald Examiner. It was there that he wrote his first novel, "The Edge of Forever". He retired from writing in 2000 and now lives with his wife near their home in San Antonio, Texas.
