Marcin Batylda was born in Warsaw, Poland. He is a son of two medical doctors, who were both physicians and psychologists. He studied Psychology at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow and received his PhD in clinical psychology. He moved to the United States in January 1991, where he has been working as a licensed psychologist since 1993
He teaches psychosomatic medicine at Columbia University Medical School, New York. He also works as a regular contributor to various newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal, Barron's Magazine and The National Review.
