Lynda Mullaly Hunt is the author of more than thirty novels, including the beloved "Isle of Hope" series. She was born in Texas and grew up in a small town in Kansas. She has a master's degree from the University of Kansas and a Ph.D. in English from the University of Texas at Austin, where she studied with John Barth, John Hawkes, and John Barthelme
Her award-winning short story "The People Next Door" was published in The Best American Short Stories 1991. In 2010, Hunt was inducted into the Texas Women's Hall of Fame. In 2011, she was named a Guggenheim Fellow for her work as a writer and teacher.
She lives in Austin, Texas with her husband and children.
