In 2003, Kristen Ciccarelli was diagnosed with a life-threatening form of leukemia. In January 2010, she was declared cancer-free. In 2011, Ciccarelli launched her own motivational blog, "In My Shoes," to encourage readers to not only keep fighting in their own battles, but to help others who might be in need and to spread awareness about the disease. She is currently a contributor to Huffington Post and The Huffington Post Women's Voices section
