He completed his primary education in Nairobi, studied law at the University of Nairobi, was called to the Bar in 1973, and practiced law for 15 years. After Kenya gained independence in 1963 he joined the Kenyan National Youth Commission which he served for eight years. He was involved with the formation of the Kenya Legal Aid Society in 1971, serving as one of its founding members.
He has written several books including "The Marijuana Conspiracy", "The Marijuana Conspiracy II", "The Marijuana Conspiracy III", "The Marijuana Conspiracy IV", "The Marijuana Conspiracy V", "The Marijuana Conspiracy VI", "The Marijuana Conspiracy VII" and "Kenya's Nightmare".
