Judy Griffith Gill was born in the small town of Deloraine in Tasmania in 1952. By the age of 15 she had moved north to Sydney and then to Melbourne where she met her future husband, John, and began a career as a journalist. The following year Judy made her television debut hosting 'Midday with Judy Gill' which proved to be such a success that she became one of Australia's most popular television personalities. In 1996 Judy won another Logie for Best Entertainment Presenter and was also named Australian Entertainer of the Year.

From 2005-07 she hosted 'Pop Idol Australia' which saw her win another Logie for Best New Talent Host.
