Josefa Iloilo was born in the Philippines in 1895 and died in the United States in 1982. She was a writer and an educator, and in particular an advocate for women and children in the Philippines. Iloilo's books were published by the Manila-based publishing house, Ateneo de Manila University Press. She has been called "the most prolific writer of Filipino women's literature."
