John Witherspoon (1674–1723) was a Scottish Presbyterian minister and theologian, who graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1692. He then studied theology at the University of Halle, graduating in 1695. He was ordained the same year. He became minister at Kilwinning, Scotland, in 1712.
