John Mather is a former professional hockey player who started playing at age 12. He played his junior hockey in Sarnia, Ontario for the Niagara Falls Flyers. In his final season, Mather played one game with the Detroit Red Wings and one game with their minor league affiliate Adirondack Red Wings. After retiring from hockey he went on to coach youth hockey and raise two daughters before moving to Texas and settling in Lubbock, TX.
