John Armstrong is a full-time Australian writer who was born in Melbourne in 1949. His writing career began when he was 14 years old, when he started writing articles for the local newspaper. He is the author of over twenty books, mostly on Australian history, but also fiction and non-fiction works on subjects ranging from World War II to modern terrorism. John Armstrong has received numerous awards for his writing, including being named in Who's Who in Australia in 1996, being awarded AO in 2003, and being acknowledged by the Prime Minister of Australia with the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2005.
