Jennifer Holliday is an American singer and actress. She is best known for her role as Dorothy in the Broadway musical "Dreamgirls" and for her performance in the 2009 Tony Award-winning Best Musical, "9 to 5: The Musical." She has received various honors and awards, including a 2001 NAACP Image Award and a 2009 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama Series. Holliday's career went through many ups and downs. After the opening of the show "Dreamgirls," she was dropped from manager Beau Thorne's management agency, and shortly after that, was charged with DUI and arrested on drug charges
