He has been published in journals including International Security, International Affairs, Canadian Foreign Policy Journal and Journal of Conflict Resolution. In addition to his academic career Dr. Robertson has been a senior official in Canada's Department of Foreign Affairs and was a member of the Prime Minister's Task Force on Globalization and Development which was responsible for drafting Canada's Global Development Strategy.
He has been a member of the Advisory Board of the Munk School for Global Affairs at the University of Toronto since 2006 and chaired their Globalization and Development Workshop in 2007.
