Helmut Newton (born Helmut Neustädter; 25 May 1928 – 5 October 2011) was a German-born Swiss fashion photographer and film director. He is best known for his bold and provocative images, which often portrayed nudity and sexuality in a frank manner. Many of his photographs were shot with high-speed cameras, which allowed him to capture the decay of time, transforming the natural beauty of the frozen moment. His work is collected in numerous major collections internationally.
