Helen Steiner Rice is an American author, teacher, and editor. She is best known for her book Tapestry, a novel that won the Pulitzer Prize in 1970. Steiner Rice also wrote two autobiographical works: The Living Mountain (1957) and A Midwife's Tale (1975). The latter won the National Book Critics Circle Award for autobiography.
