Helen Reddy was born in Stratford, Ontario. She started her career as a child actress, appearing in seven films, including "The Big Circus." In 1964, she signed with Red Bird Records and released her eponymous debut album. Reddy's second album, released in 1965, also reached number one, and featured the million-selling singles "I Am Woman" and "And I Love You So." Reddy became the first female artist to receive four gold records in one year for her albums (I Am Woman, And I Love You So, Come Live With Me and The Very Best of Helen Reddy). She had sold over 26 million records worldwide by 1966.
