Glenn Hoddle is an English former professional footballer. He is the current manager of the Russian Premier League club Anzhi Makhachkala. He played as a midfielder or forward for England, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Lazio, Barcelona and Southampton. He was capped on over 30 occasions for the England national team between 1998 and 2002
He was named Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year in 1998. He was appointed manager of Chelsea in 2004 but resigned after just six months. After his retirement as a player, Hoddle coached at Southampton before managing them briefly in 2006.
