Evelyn Pryce was the youngest daughter of Sir Edward Pryce, 1st Baronet, who was a renowned artist and collector. She was born in London in 1907. Her mother, Lady Winifred Pryce, died when she was only one month old. As a result of this tragedy, her father sent her to live with her aunt in South Africa
