Erwin Schrodinger was born in Vienna, Austria, on October 22, 1887. He received his doctorate in physics from the University of Vienna in 1913. Schrodinger lived in Vienna until 1934, when he emigrated to the United States, where he taught physics at the City College of New York. He retired in 1946 and lived in Princeton, New Jersey, until his death on July 26, 1952.
