Ernest Newman was born in Galveston, Texas. He was a highly accomplished voice artist and pioneer of professional theater. His many roles include: narrator, producer, director and writer for the first motion picture to be shot in color, "Wings of the Navy." Newman spent five years working with Walt Disney and created some of the worlds most beloved characters including: Bambi, Dumbo and the Magician's Apprentice. He also narrated the first animated feature film; "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." Newman has received numerous awards for his lifetime achievement in voice-over work including: The 1999 National Medal of Arts; The Grammy Award; The American National Medal of Honor; The Order of Lincoln; and The Order of Tennessee.
