Emma Claeys is a Belgian author who writes both fiction and non-fiction. She currently lives in Belgium, where she works as a freelance editor/proofreader, translator from English to French, and writer. She has been published in various newspapers and magazines in the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Germany. She has written three books ("The End of Kissing", "It's Not That Easy" and "Monsieur le Maire") for children under 12 years old. Emma Claeys was born in Brussels in 1978. When she was a child she started writing short stories and poems. Her first novel, "The End of Kissing," was published when she was a teenager in 1996
Since then Emma Claeys has published a number of novels for children and young adults under the name Emma Claeys-Renée Van Den Brink. Many of her works have been translated into several languages including German, Dutch, French and Portuguese. In 2011 she published her first non-fiction book "Monsieur le Maire." In 2015 her second non-fiction book "It's Not That Easy" was released by the First Publisher in Europe (Forthcoming Book Publishing).
