The two formed a band called The Wailers, which would have a major influence on reggae music in the mid-1960s, releasing several hit singles and albums including "Simmer Down", "Get Up, Stand Up", "Reggae In Living Color", "Soul Rebel", "Stir It Up" and "Waiting In Vain". Marley's songs have been sampled by many artists including De La Soul, Beastie Boys, EPMD, Method Man, Redman, Wu-Tang Clan, Public Enemy and Jay Z to name a few. Youman has produced David Bowie's album "Reality" as well as Catherine Paul's album "The Windfall".
He has also produced U2's album "Zooropa" and worked with Aerosmith on their album "Nine Lives". Youman went on to produce the show "Hollywood Squares" for NBC in the late '80s and early '90s.
