Eddie Murphy is a stand-up comedian, actor, writer and producer, who is known by his stage name, Eddie Murphy. Murphy became one of the biggest stars in the world when he starred in "Trading Places" in 1983. In 1986 he won a Golden Globe for Best Actor for his role in "48 Hrs." In 1993 he starred in "Beverly Hills Cop II" and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. In 1998 he starred as Martin Lawrence's partner Frank Costanza on the short-lived sitcom "Martin".
He continues to work as a stand-up comedian and is also a producer and director of films such as "Drumline" (2002), "Meet Dave" (Dave Chappelle) (2003), "Daddy Day Care" (2003), "Meet Dave" (Mark Wahlberg) (2004) and "Mr. Church" (2005).
