Dawn Klehr is the founder of the public education non-profit, The Alliance for Nonprofit Management and Leadership (ALLIANCE). Klehr leads work to build the capacity of nonprofit leaders who are transforming their organizations to achieve their mission. Her work is focused at the intersection of nonprofit management, leadership, and change. She is the author of several books, including "The Alliance Handbook" (Wiley), "Nonprofit Leadership Handbook" (Harvard Business School Press), "Building an Organization for Change" (University of Chicago Press), "Strategic Planning for Nonprofits" (Chesapeake Books), and "Fundraising for Nonprofits" (Harvard Business School Press)
She is also the author of the ALLIANCE blog, where she posts daily tips on nonprofit leadership, strategic planning, and board development. Klehr has consulted with dozens of organizations across industries to help them develop capable leaders. She lives in Virginia Beach with her husband, four children, and two dogs.
