David Kuo is the former Deputy Assistant Secretary for Housing in the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. He served as a senior policy adviser to President Clinton from 1993 to 1999, and as the Associate Director of the White House Office of Policy Development from 1999 to 2000. Prior to his government service, Kuo was Senior Vice President for Public Policy at the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac) where he directed policy development for Freddie Mac's regulatory, legislative, litigation, regulatory enforcement, and policy research programs. Kuo has been featured on CBS's 60 Minutes and NBC's Today Show, and has authored or coauthored five books on housing and urban policy issues. He holds a bachelor's degree from Harvard University and a law degree from Yale Law School. He lives in Washington, D.C., with his wife and son.
