30 Quotes About Wicca

You’ve probably heard of Wicca as the “Witchcraft religion.” But what is witchcraft? Is it really just a religion? Or is it something more? Some would argue that witchcraft, or witchery, is an ancient form of paganism. This form of paganism — and the pre-Christian religions and practices and beliefs that were once part of it — is sometimes referred to as the “Old Religion.” But if you ask Wiccans, they would tell you that they don’t consider themselves to be pagans at all! Witches don’t worship the dead or goddesses like most other pagans do, witchcraft (or witchery) is a type of spirituality based on natural order and the laws of nature.

We believe that we can connect with the God and Goddess and hear their voices, receive their inspiration directly and take responsibility for our own actions, without the intermediary of a pope or rabbi. Both of these attitudes are as foolish when applied to spirits as they would be if applied to human beings. John Michael Greer
