Clifford Beers is a writer and teacher. He is the author of the highly acclaimed books, The Shrinking Son and Children of the Light, which received the PEN/E.O. Wilson Literary Science Writing Award, a National Science Foundation fellowship, and a Guggenheim fellowship. A former newspaper editor and columnist, he is a member of the Authors Guild and the PEN Center USA
He has been a visiting professor at Columbia University and New York University.
