Carmen Busquets is a Professor of Rhetoric, Spanish and Comparative Literature at the University of California, Irvine. She is the author of over twenty books on literary theory, literature in the Pacific Rim, and feminism. Her work on literary discourse has appeared in many academic journals including New Literary History, Studies in Romanticism, Modern Language Quarterly, Rhetoric Review (the most cited feminist scholar in rhetorical studies). She has written on various aspects of contemporary Hispanic literature with particular emphasis on recent Latin American women writers
