Born in 1992, Bilal Bashir Magry is a Pakistani-Canadian poet and writer. He was raised in Toronto, where his father, a journalist and former political cartoonist for The Toronto Star, emigrated from Pakistan in the 1970s. He was a finalist for the Griffin Poetry Prize at the University of Ottawa. His poems have been published in several literary journals and anthologies including The White Pine Journal, The New River Verse, The Literary Review of Canada, and The Contemporary Poetry Review
His poems have also been featured on CBC Radio's Literary Lunch Hour and featured on CBC's Here and Now program.
