Batuhan Ibal (born 1955 in Turkey) has been an active participant in the Turkish literary scene for more than 30 years, and has published several novels and short story collections. He also translated and published two books by one of the most important Turkish writers of our time, Orhan Pamuk. Ibal's translations of Pamuk's novels were the first to be published in Germany and the US. Afterward, he translated Pamuk's other works into Turkish and represented his publisher in Germany

He also translated two of Pamuk's essays into German. In addition to translating books, he is a journalist and has written columns for major newspapers such as "Milliyet" and "Sözcü". He is a member of the Union of Writers and Translators of Turkey (TUGAT).
