Alia Mamdouh is a Lebanese writer, poet and translator. Born in Beirut, she studied English Literature and Linguistics at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge (UK). She completed her PhD in Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia (UK) and currently teaches English at the American University of Beirut. Her first novel "I'd Rather Die Young" was published in 2012 by Salamander Books, and was received with great enthusiasm and critical acclaim
Her second novel "The Society of the Explorers" was just published by Salamander Books and will be translated into German and Spanish.
