Alex E. Carey was born in the San Francisco Bay Area, and has worked as a teacher, counselor, and writer since 1993. He holds a Master of Arts in Applied Behavior Analysis from California State University, East Bay and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the College of Marin at Sonoma State University. He is currently pursuing his Master's Degree in Education at San Jose State University
He has worked in a variety of vocational settings including juvenile hall, juvenile dependency programs, residential treatment centers, and wilderness camps helping youth develop skills to help them overcome their challenges.
