The past holds an enormous amount of wisdom and inspiration for us today. No matter what we do, we can’t change the past. What we can change is how we deal with our past and what we learn from it. We can let it make us bitter or resentful; we can let it make us stronger or more vulnerable
But more importantly, we can let it make us better people and better people make better futures. We think of the past as a time when mistakes were made or relationships were lost; but if we think of it that way, we don’t learn from our mistakes and we don’t grow from our relationships. These long-ago quotes give us a chance to look at the present and the future in a new light, and to also see ourselves in a new light.
