History is written by the victors, and it seems that when we look for our own history in mainstream media, we find only the story that is told to us by those in power. The truth can be much more complicated than that, but all too often the mainstream media only tells the story that is convenient. Or, even worse, it tells a story about a movement and then carefully edits out any references to what happened afterwards.
