About This Quote

When the United States attacked Iraq, it did so on the basis of an ideology that was built on an idealized notion of America. The same could be said for the war that America is currently fighting in Afghanistan. Whether or not supposed terrorists are being killed or imprisoned, the U.S. has gone to war because of an idea that it wants to protect the American way of life.

The same can be said for our economic system. Our whole way of life is based on a series of ideas that are promoted by our government and corporate elite. There is no real America, only an idealized one.
