Easter is a religious festival in which the resurrection of Jesus Christ is celebrated. However, the Easter Bunny itself is not a part of the Easter celebration, but rather a creation of children. The Easter Bunny was created by children who wanted to have some fun with their parents. Many parents would drop off their kids at church on Easter Sunday and then they would have to pick them up later that day or early the next morning.

When the children got home from church, they were most likely so exhausted that they wanted to rest up. They would have to be carried out of the church by their parents because they had been so tired they could not walk home on their own. The Easter Bunny was created by these children in order for them to get back some sleep after attending church on Easter Sunday.

Ironically, this new creation allowed these children to get more sleep on Easter Sunday than any other time of year.
